WWPH Award Winners

Washington Writers Publishing House (WWPH) is pleased to announce the winners of its annual fiction and poetry contests.

Laura Fargas’s collection, The Green of Ordinary Time, is the winner of the 2016 Jean Feldman Prize for Poetry, awarded by Washington Writers Publishing House. Her poems have appeared in Atlantic Monthly, Georgia Review, Paris Review, and Poetry, and her books include An Animal of the Sixth Day (Texas Tech Univ. Press, 1996). She practiced occupational safety and health litigation on the worker side for twenty-seven years for the Department of Labor. She lives in Washington, DC.

Robert J. Williams was born in Augusta, Georgia. He is the recipient of four Larry Neal Writers’ Awards given by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Educated at Northwestern University and the University of Georgia’s Grady Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communications, he resides in Washington, D.C. where he has worked in digital marketing, advertising and web technology for over 20 years. He is currently at work on a novel.
