Yael Kiken

Yael Kiken is a teacher and translator. She studied literature at the University of Michigan and Georgetown University, and has taught with the Prison Creative Arts Project, the New English Literature Program, Bilingual Education for Central America in Cortés, Honduras, and Georgetown University’s Community Scholars program. She teaches writing and literature at Howard University and lives in Washington, DC, with her family. Zarpamos is her debut collection in translation.

Yael Kiken translated Zarpamos, the collected works of Guadalupe Ángela.
